It'south a great serial and doesn't have crazy filler similar most Shonen Jump adapted series. The battles have such great animation and great character development.

Still groovy. With the typical dip in quality in the last tertiary of the serial that almost all shonen have.

Its not besides written as HxH merely the action and characters are not bad.

The show upward until the Dark Tournament varies from OK to skilful, only that arc with Toguro is still phenomenal. Sensui is still skillful, though a step down, and the Demon Tournament varies from OK to bad.

You need to realize that this forum has oddly loftier view of this anime that led me not only to watch information technology simply to do then with an English dub they told me was 1 of the all-time best. The show isn't very expert IMO and the English dub is actually one of the worst things i've ever allowed myself to listen to.

Aye. It's one of the all-time shounen battle anime of all fourth dimension.

Watch the dub to feel Kuwabara'due south iconic voice.

I saw 1 of the movies and it had a completely different voice cast. Kuwabara is called Kuwahara and has a terrible vox and Kurama is voices past David Hayter of all people.

it's ane of my favorites, and I like it more than HxH, though I don't really like HxH then YMMV.

I'd scout the sub though. I honestly hate the English voices despite the praise they get. They just grate on me.

YYH and HXH are on opposite sides of the fighting shonen spectrum in terms of approach but are equally high quality.

I know that the manga at least has a longer prologue department. Like how YuGiOh starts as being about a guy who punishes the wicked with games and ironic punishments and then turns into a carte game story, and the anime skips that first office and gets right to the cards. YYH manga starts off about a teenager trying to learn morality as a ghost, while the anime skips most of that and gets quicker into the ki blasts and tournament arcs.

Don't know if the manga's version of the standard shonen stuff is improve than the anime's, though.

Yusuke is 1 of my favorite protagonists still.

Dub is the mode to get imo.

If you know Ichigio Kurosaki then you call Ichigo a domesticated version of Yusuke.

Information technology was licensed before the TV serial. Kind of weird they'd release information technology independently from everything else just hey.

I do not watch much anime. I still constantly recommend this bear witness to all my irl friends. I honey this show so much. I didn't watch anything past the dark tournament arc tho but I felt like that was a perfectly logical closure betoken. I grew up on DBZ and I think I prefer Yu Yu. There are so many corking moments and information technology's fine art style and blitheness is acme notch.

To provide a contrary opinion, I rewatched it several months back, and it'due south fairly fun but overall a bit mediocre. I honestly feel like the nostalgia aspect is a huge driving factor backside the love the show receives.

I'yard likewise 100% stumped by people who call back it'southward worth watching for the blitheness. Artful I totally understand, but the animation is past no means remarkable fifty-fifty for the time.

Besides simply read the manga. YYH anime isn't Dragon Ball levels of glacial simply it's still really boring.

Edit: Probs my favorite English dub take on an OP song though. As well the dub in full general is very solid.

As a heads up, at that place's a transphobic moment in one episode. Kuwabara refuses to fight a woman assassinator and gets upset when Yusuke beats her upward, but then Yusuke reveals he groped her during the fight and realized she had male genitals. He also tells her that she needs to go all the manner instead of half-assing it.

Togashi handles trans characters much ameliorate in subsequently serial, so the creator improved well-nigh that.

Aye information technology's great. Did a rewatch terminal year and I think it's one of the better paced animes out there for certain.
